Cyclist struck by pickup truck

A 62-year-old driver of a large pickup truck was issued a ticket for failing to obey a stop sign after running into cyclist Wednesday afternoon at Eighth and Johnson.

A 62-year-old driver of a large pickup truck was issued a ticket for failing to obey a stop sign after running into cyclist Wednesday afternoon at Eighth and Johnson.

The cyclist, a 22-year-old man who was wearing a helmet, came into contact with the driver's side door and headlight. He was taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries to his neck, right foot and with cuts to a hand, Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said.

Police were called to the scene shortly after 2 p.m.
