Organizers of the Climb for Cancer are challenging residents to make climbing the cutbanks during the fundraiser event part of their New Year's resolutions.
The third annual Climb for Cancer is scheduled for April 21, and all funds raised benefit the Canadian Cancer Society's Kordyban Lodge.
"Every dollar raised is an important investment not only for the Canadian Cancer Society's Kordyban Lodge, but for the people of Northern B.C. who may need to come to Prince George for treatment," event campaign chair person David Duck said. "Getting ready for the Climb for Cancer is an achievable goal. A simple journey up our cutbanks goes a long way. Every step counts."
In its first two years, the event has raised $57,000 to support the lodge, which provides a home away from home for patients receiving cancer treatment in Prince George. Kordyban Lodge has 36 beds and provides three meals a day, along with support for cancer patients and their families.
