The Willow Cale Road at the Haggith Creek crossing is being reduced to single-lane alternating traffic and the speed reduced to 30 kilometres per hour as the city deals with bank erosion discovered in that area.
Delineators are being installed and a section of concrete will be moved onto the site on Monday to restrict travel to single lane alternating and to keep traffic away from the west side of the road, city hall said in a statement issued Friday.
Signage and delineators will be set up to instruct drivers.
"City crews and an engineering consultant will be monitoring the slope raveling daily to determine if these measures will work to stop the further deterioration," city hall said. "If not, it may be necessary to close the road entirely."
The spot is located about 1.6km south of the Penn Road-Milwaukee Way-Willow Cale Road intersection.
