A 21-year-old man was in critical condition following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 97 early Monday morning near Ahbau Creek north of Quesnel.
Called to the scene shortly after 3 a.m., emergency responders found the man pinned under the sport utility vehicle he had been driving when he failed to negotiate a curve, Quesnel RCMP said.
Highway rescue personnel extracted the man and transferred him to G.R. Baker Hospital n Quesnel, 116 kilometres south of Prince George.
He was later transported by air ambulance to Vancouver with serious injuries.
The 20-year-old passenger was treated at G.R. Baker for non-life threatening injuries and later released, RCMP said.
