A man has been charged with driving too fast for conditions after his pickup truck collided with a utility pole on Foothills Boulevard near Freimuller Avenue shortly before midnight Sunday. The incident knocked out power to nearly 1,400 customers in the Foothills and Miworth areas. Service was restored by about 7:30 a.m.
RCMP said it appears the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle lost control after going over a patch of ice. The man was uninjured.
