Thousands of rodeo fans headed to Exhibition Park over the weekend as the two-day Huber Equipment Rodeo showcased top-tier rodeo action under mostly favourable skies.
Sanctioned by the BC Rodeo Association and Bull Riders Canada, the event saw packed bleachers — close to 2,000 spectators each day — as a full slate of eight events played out in front of a national and international audience, with live coverage on the Cowboy Channel reaching a potential 100 million viewers.
The infield featured a 16-by-20-foot replay screen to ensure fans didn’t miss a second of the action, which included bareback riding, saddle bronc, bull riding, barrel racing, team roping, steer wrestling, tie-down roping and breakaway roping.
Stock from Dwayne Sorken’s Hard 8 roughstock pen provided plenty of buck for the competitors, while Cowboy Cole kept the crowd entertained as rodeo clown.
