A mishmash of famous fairy tale characters are thrown together for twists of fate and turns of phrase during Sleeping Beauty and the Beast today through Saturday at Kelly Road school.
The Grade 11 and 12 Drama Club are at it again, fine tuning their funny bone ticklers featuring zesty barbs and quick-witted responses as Prince Charmless attempts to save Princess Rose from the Wicked Faerie and her sleep-inducing curse.
But it doesn't stop there. Charmless meets up with the adventurous Puss 'n' Boots, a snarling Snow White, and a lonely Beast who's not crushing on Belle, but on another beauty.
In this fractured fairy tale, anything goes.
"Prince Charmless is a very geeky, nervous guy who's not very popular," said Sam Vandeyck, Grade 12 student , who started acting in 2012, and went from having five lines last year to 134 this year.
"Everyone in the kingdom hates him - well, except for his girlfriend-ish, Princess Rose, and he's always off on some adventure, trying to prove himself."
