Cpl. Darren Fitzpatrick, 21, was laid to rest in Prince George cemetery Tuesday.
He died in an Edmonton hospital after being injured by an improvised explosive device on March 6 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan.
He is the first Prince George-raised soldier to be killed in combat in half a century.
