COVID tops most-read Citizen stories of 2020

In the middle of March, Gordon Mohs of Mission reached out to The Citizen, wanting to let people know he may have inadvertently exposed local residents to COVID-19 during a recent business trip.

Christine Hinzmann’s story, “B.C. man worried he spread COVID-19 to PG,” was the most-read story on our website in 2020. It received 38,040 page views this year.

To put that number into context, The Citizen’s website averaged about 40,000 page views per day in 2020.

But our online readers didn’t just want to know about the pandemic this year.

The second most-read story of 2020 on The Citizen website was “BC Hydro giving three month credit,” receiving 32,925 page views. 

In descending order, the rest of the top-10 most-read stories on our website in 2020 were:
