The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 in the Northern Health region continued to decline on Tuesday.
As of Tuesday, 43 people in northern B.C. were hospitalized with COVID-19, including 11 listed in critical care, according to data released by the B.C. Centre for Disease Control. That’s down from 47 people hospitalized on Monday and 66 on Friday.
The B.C. CDC reported 45 new cases of COVID-19 in the Northern Health region on Tuesday. The CDC no longer reports the number of active cases.
No new COVID-related deaths were reported in the Northern Health region on Tuesday, leaving the region’s death toll from the pandemic at 313.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 28,514 cases of COVID-19 in the Northern Health region.
As of Tuesday, 11.34 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in B.C., including 520,181 doses in the Northern Health region.
