COVID cases decline in Northern Health

The number of patients Northern Health currently battling the COVID-19 virus took a drop on Wednesday. The count stood at 23 active cases, a decline of eight from the day before, according to numbers from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control.

The number of patients Northern Health currently battling the COVID-19 virus took a drop on Wednesday.

The count stood at 23 active cases, a decline of eight from the day before, according to numbers from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control.

However, hospitalizations rose to seven from five and the number in intensive care stood a three, an increase of one from the day before.

As well, 132 tests were conducted for the virus were conducted in the region.

A death from COVID-19 in Northern Health has yet to be recorded.

The numbers were issued the same day Premier John Horgan announced a $1.6-billion fall pandemic plan that includes more virus testing, contact tracing and a campaign to administer almost two million flu shots.
