While many businesses and buildings are closing in Prince George due to COVID-19, but tattoo shops are remaining open with strict conditions.

Many shops have posted on social media channels that those coming into shops are asked to abide by policies in place for the time-being including:

  • If you feel unwell with any symptoms such as sore throats, coughs, fevers etc., you are asked to change appointments
  • Go to appointments alone or minimize guests needed. Any additional guests can be asked to leave by some shops unless absolutely needed
  • You must wash your hands, use hand sanitizer and/or wipes provided by shops

Those who have placed a deposit will not lose them should they need to reschedule due to sickness.

Handsome Cabin Boy Tattoo will be closing its doors to the general public and will be working on an appointment-only basis. Only whose with appointments will be allowed in the shop for the time being.

"Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we would like to take the opportunity to reassure you that Gold Tooth Grin always adheres to the highest standards of health and safety set forth by Northern Health," Gold Tooth Grin Studios said in a Facebook post

"Even still, we have added extra cleaning as well as hand sanitizer and access to multiple handwashing stations."

"Our clients can help keep us keep clean and healthy by staying home if you feel at all ill. (this applies to our artists as well) We can easily rebook your tattoo for another date. Clients can help us by limiting the amount of people you bring with you to your appointment."

The Wandering Panda Tattoo Studio also announced similar steps in a Facebook post.

"Our shop is clean, sterile and extra precautions have been taken on wiping down and disinfecting surfaces," the post reads.

"Consultations and bookings can still be made over the phone and through emails. We ask that you come alone for your appointment to decrease exposure with the public, for you and our Artists. If you are feeling ill or just want to take precautions with the ongoing situation and need to reschedule your appointment, your deposits will be honoured for a future date."

I Heart Tattoos released a social media post yesterday, asking clients to follow simple guidelines.

If you have appointments at shops in Prince George, you will want to check if they have placed any conditions for tattooing during the COVID-19 outbreak.
