Campbell Elynuik is moving back to the western conference after the Prince George Cougars acquired the forward Monday from the Regina Pats.
The 19 year old is in his third WHL season, having played two years for the Everett Silvertips where he played in 71 games, collecting seven points and 121 penalty minutes. The Pats traded for Elynuik during the off-season. In eight games for the Pats, the Calgary product had three points and 24 minutes in the sin bin.
In exchange for the six-foot-four, 190 pound Elynuik, the Pats will resolve a conditional sixth-round draft pick in the 2012 WHL bantam draft. Elynuik is the son of former NHL player Pat.
The Cougars return to action at CN Centre Friday when the Tri City Americans visit at 7 p.m.
