The future stars of the Prince George Cougars got a chance to strut their hockey talent in the Prosects Showcase Thursday night at CN Centre.
Players in the 15-17-year-old age category suited up for Team Boogaard (black uniforms) and Team Souray (white uniforms) to officially launch their WHL training camp.
Jake Walker scored his second goal of the game in overtime to give the guys in black a 5-4 win.
Toiday at 9 a.m. the main camp begins and players on four teams (Chara, Mason, Byfuglien and Connolly) will begin scrimmaging against each other.
Scrimmages continue all day Saturday and Sunday morning, leading up to the Cougars’ intrasquad game – Team Brewer vs. Team Hamhuis Sunday at 6 p.m.
All on-ice sessions are at CN Centre and are open to the public.
