Controlled burns planned for McLeod Lake area

The BC Wildfire Service will be burning brush piles near the McLeod Lake Mackenzie Community Forest, at Highway 39 and Gagnon Creek.

The BC Wildfire Servicewill be burning brush piles near the McLeod Lake Mackenzie Community Forest, at Highway 39 and Gagnon Creek this week.

"These burns are being conducted to complete hazard abatement along the highway corridor," notes a press release. 

Burning will only proceed if conditions are suitable, a burn plan is in place and is anticipated to start on Wednesday, March 13.

"Smoke may be visible in the area. Staff from the BC Wildfire Service will be on site to carefully monitor these fires," adds the release.
