Close to $61,000 in earned income has been distributed by the Prince George Community Foundation to 16 local arts, cultural and community organizations.
Those benefiting include Central B.C. Railway and Forestry Museum, Prince George Child Development Centre, College of New Caledonia, Cranbrook Hill Greenway Society, Fraser Fort George Museum Society (Exploration Place), Prince George Hospice Society, Prince George Public Library, Prince George Spinners and Weavers Guild, Community Arts Council, Prince George Symphony Orchestra, School District 57 Springboard to Success scholarship fund, Theatre Northwest, Two Rivers Gallery, Prince George United Way and University of Northern British Columbia.
"We are pleased to recognize that these organizations have made many contributions to our community and to also recognize that they receive tremendous support from their dedicated volunteers," Community Foundation president Teresa Saunders said.
"The market is holding steady and our prudent investments continue to show positive earnings. We are happy to return the income earned on these funds to those in the community who are making a difference."
The latest recipients were announced last week.
