Three people were taken to hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 16 near Vance Road early Friday afternoon.
The collision between a pickup truck pulling a trailer carrying sand or gravel and a minivan also led to a snarl of traffic as motorists faced 20-minute delays to get through the scene while investigators collected evidence.
Drivers have been urged to avoid the area and take either Ospika Boulevard or University Way to reach the other side of the city.
Estimated time of reopening was 7 p.m.
