If you're planning to stay at Coast Inn of the North, you may want to keep an eye on your booking.

UNITE HERE Local 40, the union representing hotel staff, announced today (Dec. 11) that Coast Hotels have issued a 72-hour lockout notice at Coast Bastion in Nanaimo, Coast Victoria Harbourside and Coast Inn of the North in Prince George.

The lockout threat affects more than 250 workers, according to a press release.

The union has a rally planned at the PG hotel tomorrow (Dec. 12), in protest of the company's actions. The demonstration is set for 4:30 p.m.

Emergency mediation has been agreed upon by both sides for Wednesday and Thursday (Dec. 13).

The union says if a settlement is not reached by midnight on Dec. 13, they have called on the labour movement to pull business from the hotels.
