The College of New Caledonia's international students are holding a forum to explore how seniors are treated in Canada compared to other countries.
A community panel will speak on the age and culture topic on Friday from noon to 1:30 in Room 1-306 at the college campus.
"Everyone is welcome to join us for an international and community conversation about how younger generations treat older generations in different cultures," said Sabreena MacElheron, CNC co-ordinator of the international ambassadorship and leadership students, in a recent news release. "A diverse panel of elders from many countries, communities and cultures will participate in the discussion."
Jacob Madjitey, a CNC instructor will be the facilitator at the event.
"This forum would be beneficial for those who plan to work with seniors, such as nursing, social work, and health care assistant students," said MacElheron.
The students will present a talent show at the Seniors Activity Centre, 425 Brunswick St., at 6 p.m. Friday, which will offer dance, music, comedy and soccer skills performed by international students.
Admission to the talent show is by donation of s non-perishable food item.
Items collected will be included in Christmas hampers for seniors that will be delivered personally by CNC international students Dec. 23.
