Health care professionals can get a deal on gently-used scrubs and support the education of a health sciences student during the College of New Caledonia's biannual scrub sale on Monday.

For the past two weeks, CNC has collected gently used scrubs from the community. The donated tops and bottoms will sell for $5 apiece with all proceeds going towards the "Making a Difference" bursary.

"The scrubs are really affordable and go a long way towards supporting the education of a future healthcare professional," said scrub sale organizer and CNC nursing instructor Nancy Esopenko. "It's a win-win for everyone."

The bursary has awarded more than $10,000. Each year, five bursaries of $250 are awarded to health science students in need. Last year, however, the support for the sale raised enough to give out seven awards in 2019.

"We are so thankful for the tremendous support the community has given our little sale throughout the years," Esopenko said. "We're hoping to match last year's success and be able to give another seven bursaries to health science students."

Scrubs can continue to be dropped off until the morning of the sale at the CNC Library. Donated scrubs must be washed and in usable condition.

The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Gathering Place at CNC's Prince Geoge campus. Cash, debit, and credit are accepted.
