A First Nations leader and author is headed to the College of New Caledonia today as part of a speaker series.
Arthur Manuel wrote Unsettling Canada: A National Wake-Up Call. He is a four-time chief of the Neskonlith Indian Band and three-time chair of the Shuswap Nation Tribal Council.
The talk, titled Decolonization, Reconciliation & New Directions, will be held at the CNC Gathering Place from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
It's part of the Human Rights and International Solidarity Committee's Speaker's Tour.
"We are very happy to be able to host this talk," said organizer, James Lovitt in a media release.
"I think many members of our community will benefit from hearing him talk about Aboriginal rights and the issues that face Aboriginal peoples in our country."
