Nearly 900 students are graduating this year from CNC’s schools - access and continuing education, health sciences, human services, university studies, business, and trades/technology.

The first of two convocation ceremonies happens this Thursday at CN Centre, starting at 1 p.m. The Prince George ceremony will be livestreamed on YouTube.

A second grad ceremony is planned for CNC's North Cariboo campus in Quesnel on Thursday, June 8.

Of the 898 graduating students, CNC expects 440 will take part in the ceremonies.

Social service worker graduate Darian Meesto of Onion Lake and the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation in Saskatchewan has been selected for the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for Inclusion, Democracy, and Reconciliation.

The college will also announce winners of the Governor General’s Academic Collegiate Bronze Medal Award and the Mary John Award of Excellence at the ceremonies.

Ninety-seven registered nursing students from the Northern Collaborative Baccalaureate of Nursing Program are graduating. The program is a partnership between CNC and UNBC. After two years of study at CNC, the students move to UNBC for two more years to receive their nursing degrees.

Also on the 2023 graduation list are 138 trades and technologies students who have completed their fourth level of studies in automotive service, carpentry, electrical, heavy mechanical trades, and industrial mechanic programs, which sets them up to complete their Red Seal designations.
