CN Rail's maintenance-of-way employees has ratified a new agreement, the company said Thursday.
The three-year contract, retroactive to Jan. 1, provides wage increases along with standard benefit improvements to 2,800 workers in Canada represented by the United Steelworkers.
"This agreement, negotiated before the previous contact expired at the end of 2011, underscores the constructive dialogue CN has developed with the USW," CN executive vice-president and chief operating officer Keith Creel said in a statement.
It's the second contract to be ratified in the last two weeks as the company said Jan. 27 a deal was signed with 1,800 locomotive engineers represented by the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC).
