The city's unemployment rate stood at 6.4 per cent last month according to labour force survey results issued by Statistics Canada on Friday, down 0.9-per centage points from the month before even though 400 fewer people were holding down jobs.
Most of the drop appears due to an increase of 800 people not in the labour force as the number unemployed but seeking work fell by 500 to 3,300 people.
