The City of Prince George is providing citizens with an opportunity to see how their property tax is allocated and it can all be done online.

"This is the third year since we began using the budget consultations," said Michael Kellett, spokesperson for the City of Prince George.

The budget simulator, Citizen Budget, continues to be part of the Talkober period of neighbourhood conversations.

The survey allows respondents to see how their property tax is currently allocated for various city functions and services.

It also indicates how their choices about financial distributions to various operations would be reflected in their personal property tax bill.

"Everyone is welcome to participate in the Citizen Budget survey.

"Upon completing the questionnaire, residents can submit their feedback, review the implications for their personal taxes and share the results on a variety of social networks," Kellett said.

"This is so much better than having firms conduct this. Here, we put it into the hands of the resident and they can do the budget themselves. This is also a good educational tool in seeing all of the services provided by the city."

The results will be presented to council at the outset of the 2018 budget deliberations. Citizen Budget is available at princegeorge.citizenbudget.com and through a link on the City homepage at www.princegeorge.ca.

Submissions will be accepted until Oct. 31.
