A busy intersection in College Heights has been completed by the City of Prince George, hoping to make the area safer.

The update to the traffic signal at Domano Boulevard and St. Lawrence Avenue/Gladstone Drive is now completed as of today (Nov. 17).

Crews started the work in September to help facilitate development, improve network access for the surrounding residential and recreation areas as well as improve intersection road safety for all modes of transportation.

The lights have been flashing red and operating as a four-way stop since last week to help test the lights.

As of 1 p.m. today, the intersection will change to begin working as a regular intersection including 'permissive left turns.' in which drivers can turn on the green light when safe to do so.

The city says the lights are comparable to the ones installed in 2019 at the 22nd Ave. and Ospika Boulevard Intersection.
