City real estate services manager Ian Wells has been appointed the city's interim director of planning and development.
Wells is filling the position left by former director Dan Milburn. Millburn, who has served with the city's planning department for 11 years, resigned the position in March to take a private consulting job.
Milburn served as director of planning and development for approximately a year, replacing long-time director Grant Bain.
According to city manager Derek Bates, Wells will fill Milburn's role from April 2 to the end of the year. In addition, he will continue to serve as manager of real estate services.
Wells was unavailable for comment as of press time.
