Motorists heading to Prince George Airport might want to leave early starting Aug. 8 as paving work could lead to delays of up to 15 minutes.
On Wednesday, July 30, the airport posted to its Facebook page that Okanagan Aggregates will be working on Ellis and Sintich roads starting on that date and lasting for up to two weeks.
“Be advised that single lane alternating traffic will be in effect with maximum delays of 15 minutes,” the post read.
A media release sent out by the airport on Thursday, July 31 said that the work on Sintich and Ellis roads will take place from Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Earlier this year, the provincial Ministry of Transportation and Transit announced it would be resurfacing six kilometres of Highway 97 from the Simon Fraser Bridge to Sintich Road and 14 kilometres of side roads, including on Old Cariboo Highway, Sintich Road and Johnson Road.
The City of Prince George’s daily list of traffic disruptions states that Highway 97 south from the Simon Fraser Bridge to Sintich Road will be single lane alternating traffic from Monday, June 16 until Saturday, Aug. 30 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
No construction will take place over long weekends.
