The city is continuing legal efforts to force the previous owner of the Columbus Hotel to pay slightly more than $175,000 for the cost of demolishing and cleaning up the Third Avenue downtown site.

A notice of appeal has been filed against a B.C. supreme court justice's decision last month to turn down the city's request for a "summary judgment" that would have compelled Rob Gibson to pay the amount without going to a full-fledged trial.
