The Citizen is up for two Ma Murray Awards this year.
On Wednesday, the B.C./Yukon Community Newspaper Association nominated Gordon Hoekstra as a finalist in the Business Writing category for his series Green Tape, which was an examination of the regulatory review process for natural resource projects in northern B.C.
Matt Altizer and The Citizen's Internet team were nominated as a finalist in the Website & Online Innovation category.
Award winners will be announced April 10 at the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond.
In 2009, Jason Peters won the Ma Murray for Sports Writing for his feature story "The Courage to Coach" and The Citizen's Walter Beardwood and Christine Skorepa took second place in the Website & Online Innovation category.
