In yesterday's Citizen we ran a letter to the editor that was attributed to Doreen Spence.
After meeting with Mrs. Spence and her son Tom it became apparent that the letter had not been contributed by Mrs. Spence.
Ray Gerow, president and CEO of the Aboriginal Business Development Centre also spoke to The Citizen as to the tireless work Mrs. Spence does to support Metis cultural activities and to address their social issues in Prince George and surrounding communities.
Since then, The Citizen has revised its policy for letters to the editor and has turned the original letter over to the RCMP for further investigation.
The Citizen sincerely apologizes for any embarrassment this may have caused Mrs. Spence or her family.
