A man who failed to appear in court to answer to child pornography charges is back in custody.
Joseph Samuel Sackaney, 49, was apprehended late last week, court records indicate, about a week after police issued a press release saying a warrant had been issued for his arrest.
Sackaney is facing charges of possessing, accessing and possessing for the purpose of distributing child pornography stemming from a search warrant on a Prince George home on Oct. 5, 2013.
He had failed to appear in Prince George provincial court on April 30.
As well, a woman who failed to appear in court May 7 for sentencing on several charges was apprehended late last week, court records are showing.
Sandra Lynn Astle, 36, faces three counts of breach of probation, two counts of theft under $5,000 and one count each of willfully resisting arrest, impersonation to avoid arrest, assault and assault with intent to resist arrest.
The charges are from alleged incidents on March 7, 2013, Nov. 27, 2013, March 29, 2014 and April 23, 2014.
She has also since been charged with failing to appear in court.
