The weigh scales station on Highway 97 in the Hart Highlands was closed Sunday, July 20, with the closure still in effect the following day.
The station weighs trucks heading south through Prince George.
Prince George Fire Rescue sent crews from four halls to the station at about 10 p.m. Saturday, July 19. They found smoke coming from the building and a fire inside, which was quickly extinguished.
The fire is under investigation and the damage is estimated at $75,000.
There were no injuries.
