A Prince George man who allegedly went on a two-week crime spree was arrested Friday afternoon.
Shortly after 2 p.m. on April 6, the Prince George RCMP responded to a complaint of theft at the Pine Centre Mall.
Loss prevention officers and mall security spotted a man who was wanted by the police for the theft of more than $500 worth of coffee makers from the Parkwood Mall London Drugs store.
The 31-year-old male, who is known to police, stole $200 worth of denim jeans from a mall clothing store and attempted to flee the area prior to police arrival. Police located the man and arrested him a short distance away without incident and recovered the stolen goods.
The suspect had been wanted on several outstanding arrest warrants for failing to comply with his probation officer. Police are now recommending ore than 30 new charges for theft and breaching probation for an alleged one-man theft spree from local businesses across the city.
The RCMP would like to thank the public for their assistance in identifying and locating the suspect as well as the Pine Centre Mall security for their quick response in contacting the police.
