Crown counsel has approved charges against a Prince George man allegedly caught in a bait property sting.
Ulysses Sydney Nicholas, 22, has been charged with theft $5,000 or under and breaching probation.
He was arrested on Jan. 9 when RCMP's downtown safety unit deployed a vehicle with bait property in the downtown area.
Nicholas was arrested within the first hour, according to police, after a lone male was seen approaching the vehicle and peering into the passenger window.
"The suspect then looked up and down the street, waited for a vehicle to drive by, and then entered the bait vehicle," police said.
A foot chase followed but the suspected was soon arrested without further trouble.
Nicholas has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 12.
