City council approved a change Monday night in the way their salaries are established.

They'll now be based on the average annual increase in the public administration industry as determined by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada.

Previously, they were based on the annual percentage salary increase for all public and private sectors in B.C.

For 2010, Mayor Dan Rogers will earn $91,235 and each council member will receive $23,488, both 2.7-per-cent hikes from their 2009 salaries.
