For the first time in Prince George concert history, an American Idol is coming to town.

Five-time Grammy winner Carrie Underwood will include a stop at CN Centre on her Blown Away tour on Tuesday, May 21, 2013.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Dec. 7 at 10 a.m.

Underwood, a multi-platinum country superstar, has sold 15 million albums in her career, which took off in 2005 when she won American Idol. The 29-year-old Oklahoma native captured three female vocalist awards from each of the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music. In 2010, she was picked her as ACM Entertainer of the Year, becoming the first female artist to win the award twice. Her latest album, Blown Away, released in May, has already produced two No. 1 hits in the Billboard country charts -- the Blown Away title track and Good Girl.

Underwood has locked up the starring role as Maria von Trapp in NBC's three-hour live broadcast of the Broadway version of The Sound of Music, to be televised during the 2013 holiday season
