Williams Lake RCMP were called to the vicinity of the Quesnel Forks ghost town where a boating incident had reportedly occurred on Saturday at about 5 p.m. Police went to the scene knowing that a boat sank there with multiple people on board.

"The police received information that all of the occupants from the boat except for one had been pulled from the river and were safe on shore," said a Williams Lake RCMP statement. "Search and Rescue attended to look for the missing occupant. A short time later a deceased male was located in the water. He was identified as being a party to the boat."
