It’s time for another drag at the Prince George city council meeting!
A lot will be discussed around the horseshoe tonight, including both proposed locations for B.C. Cannabis stores.
The rezoning bylaw for the Southridge location near Walmart is up for final reading adoption, which means that if approved, B.C. Cannabis will get the go-ahead to open up.
The second proposed location at 3055 Massey Dr. (which is a portion of the old Sears location in Pine Centre Mall), will also be the subject of a formal public hearing starting at 7:00 p.m.
The city has already received four written correspondences voicing opposition to the proposed location.
Amendments to the Second-Hand Dealers and Pawn Brokers Bylaw will also be up for final reading and adoption. If approved, this will eliminate a 30-day hold on buying and selling collectable trading cards.
The Aboriginal Housing Society of Prince George is requesting a temporary use permit so the organization can use their space as a commercial kitchen and catering service.
This would allow the Canadian Mental Health Association in Prince George to run a not-for-profit, socially purposed kitchen with on and off-site food services and vocational training in the space, after the CMHA clubhouse burned down in a fire last year.
