Politics take centre stage tonight, when the candidates from both Prince George ridings face off in UNBC's Canfor Theatre.
The Citizen, CKPG News and the university are hosting the all-candidates forum, which will be moderated by Citizen columnist and UNBC professor Tracy Summerville.
Beginning at 6 p.m. with the Prince George-Valemount contenders, candidates will have an hour to provide opening statements, answer questions on key issues facing the north and debate the responses. Candidates will have the chance to question other candidates.
The process will begin again at 7:30 p.m. for the Prince George-Mackenzie candidates.
During the debate, the Citizen will be launching its special election page on www.pgcitizen.ca, where users can follow along with a live-blog of the proceedings and have their own comments included via Twitter by using the hashtags #bcelxn and #bcpoli.
Broadcasts of the two debates will be aired on CKPG over the weekend. Prince George-Valemount will air Saturday from 6 to 7 p.m. and from 11 p.m. to midnight. The Prince George-Mackenzie group will see airtime on Sunday from 6 to 7 p.m. and from 11 p.m. to midnight.
