There's a call out by the Prince George victim services units for individuals, groups and businesses that make a significant contribution towards positive change in the lives of youth in the community.

The call for nominations comes during National Victims of Crime Awareness Week from victim services units from the Elizabeth Fry Society, the Prince George Native Friendship Centre and the Prince George RCMP.

The recipients will be honoured at a gala April 22 at the Coast Inn of the North.

Categories include community volunteers working with youth, youth service providers who go above and beyond, a youth who stands up and speaks out against violence.

Nomination deadline is April 15, 2015. To submit a nomination include the name and a brief description of your nominees' outstanding contribution and email it to [email protected].

Victim services units offer support to victims of crime throughout the events involving a tragedy or trauma and provide crisis intervention, emotional support and information about the criminal justice system.
