The Caledonia Nordic Ski Club held a special one-year out event on Saturday looking toward the 2024 Para World Biathlon Championships & Para Nordic World Cup Finals that will be held in Prince George.

During the event the new logo for the upcoming championships was unveiled by Lheidli T’enneh Chief Dolleen Logan.

The logo is a dreamcatcher that Logan said is a very important symbol for all Indigenous people across Canada.

“We were taught at a young age about dreamcatchers,” Logan explained. “It would protect sleepers from having bad dreams. It would capture the bad dreams allowing only the good ones to go through. So I am confident with this new logo that it will help the athletes who travel here next year with any negative thoughts to be caught and this will allow the good thoughts, good energy, to go through and it will allow the athletes to do their best which will make us all very proud.”
