Caledonia Mobile Home Park residents have entered their fifth day without water.

Despite claims from park management and owners that a broken water line would be fixed Monday night and service restored, the more than 40 affected homes are still dry.

Water was shut off at the North Nechako Road park Friday afternoon and subsequent attempts to fix the problem were eventually shut down by WorkSafeBC Sunday night.

According the outgoing message on park manager Odette Young's voicemail, there is currently no timeline for when the water will be back on.

"We're still working on having the site set up safely and once that is completed we'll begin work again," she said. "We're sorry for the inconvenience."

An approximately six-foot deep hole has been dug behind one home in the park to reach the broken pipe. Before the 72-hour stop-work order was issued, there were no supports in place nor was an engineer consulted, both of which are required for an excavation of that size and proximity to a structure.
