City council voted in favour of an increase to bus fares by 25 cents a ride.
The regular fare will be $2.25 and a student/senior fare will be $1.75 beginning in September.
Councilor Garth Frizzell said the increase is in response to BC Transit raising their rates.
The bus service level will also increase by 2,700 hours effective January 2011.
