Canadian music legend Bruce Cockburn is returning to Prince George.
One of the nation's most renowned singer-songwriters, with a Hall of Fame list of hits and a globally recognized reputation for social commentary, Cockburn has been pleasing audiences for more than 35 years.
His songs are the stuff of the national soundtrack: Lovers In a Dangerous Time, Wondering Where the Lions Are, If A Tree Falls, Mighty Trucks of Midnight, Pacing The Cage, and many more.
He is considered a virtuoso guitar player, his lyrics are cherished by fans in all hemispheres, and his music has been covered by other stars from Jimmy Buffett to Anne Murray to kd lang to Jerry Garcia.
"My job is to try and trap the spirit of things in the scratches of pen on paper, in the pulling of notes out of metal," he said at his induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2001.
He is the recipient of the Order Of Canada to go along with Juno awards, honorary university degrees from the likes of Berklee and York. He was also the inaugural headliner at the very first Prince George Folkfest (now known as Cold Snap).
Cockburn will be in PG on May 6 at Vanier Hall at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster (CN Centre box office and Studio 2880 plus online) for $39.50 plus service charges.
