Construction on Boundary Road has begun.
The proposed connection from Highway 16 to Highway 97 via the Prince George Airport is expected to be a fulcrum for the local economy, since it will reduce north-south travel time for commercial goods and commuters, and most importantly form a cargo channel between road, rail and air transport points..
After several years of discussions, fundraising and designs, the project officially started on Tuesday. Western Industrial Contractors (WIC) is the main contractor for the 6.8 km construction project.
