Bobtail Lake Recreation Site will be temporarily closed due to site reconstruction and gravel hauling between Monday, Aug. 8 and Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, the provincial government said Thursday.

There will be disruptions within the recreation site throughout the month of August with the majority of work being conducted Monday to Friday with less disruption on the weekends. The site will remain open to the public except for Aug. 8-15 when it will be fully closed.

Work will include construction of a new boat launch, gravelling, proper drainage and brushing of in-site roads and new picnic tables and outhouses.

The Bobtail Lake Recreation Site is about 45 kilometres west of Prince George and about the same distance southeast of Vanderhoof.

- Also, the Cunningham Pass (3100) Forest Service Road will remain closed between 21 and 26 kilometres as a result of severe washouts and slides.

As a result, there is currently no through access from Likely to Wells-Barkerville as the road has been deactivated at 3121 kilometre and 3126 kilometre.

There is limited access by four-wheel drive vehicles only from Likely to 3126 kilometre, however motorists wishing to travel this portion of the road are advised to use extreme caution.
