The Punjabi Canadian Seniors Society's eighth annual Bike-A-Thon raised $25,871 this year for the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.

This year's event took place on Sept. 9 and began at 8 a.m. where the team of cyclists left the Guru Nanak Darbar Sikh Temple at 4298 Davis Rd. and rode to Purden Lake where they were treated to a picnic provided by the Punjabi Canadian Senior Society. The cyclists then biked back to Prince George as a way to demonstrate that exercise is part of a healthy lifestyle.

The Punjabi Canadian Seniors Society has always supported the healthcare foundation and has donated $111,780 in total.

The money raised this year will support the ECHO Ultrasound that is part of the Regional Cardiac Strategy at UHNBC, something the seniors society is passionate about, Judy Neiser, CEO of the foundation, said in a recent news release.
