Prince George MLA and Jobs Minister Pat Bell won't be on the plane when Premier Christy Clark travels to Japan, Korea, and the Philippines for a jobs and trade mission.
"It's at a time when we're active in the House so it just makes sense just to have her go and we'll be staffing her," Bell said. "I've got a significant number of people from my team that will be helping support her over there."
Clark leaves Vancouver on May 12 and returns eight days later.
"It is really shaping up to be a very positive trip," Bell said. "I will be going back later in the year on a separate mission and I think the conclusion we've come to is it's best to do multiple missions utilizing the premier wherever we can and then the other ministers where appropriate."
He said there will be representation from the forest industry and possibly from the bio-energy industry and post-secondary schools.
"The confirmations still aren't in yet, so I can't give you any specific names," Bell said.
