Beaudry 24th, Tandy 31st in IBU Cup biathon

Caledonia Ski Club members entered in relays Sunday in Obertiliach, Austria

Sarah Beaudry of Prince George placed 24th in the IBU Cup biathlon women's 7.5-kilometre sprint Saturday in Obertilliach, Austria.
Beaudry, the top Canadian, had just one miss in four shooting rounds and finished the course 1:20.6 behind race winner Karolin Horchler of Germany. Julia Simon of France won silver and Uliana Kaisheva of Russia took bronze. Horchler clocked 21:38.5.
Megan Tandy of Prince George finished 31st, 1:34.9 off the pace. She had two missed targets.
Madia Moser of Whitehorse was 58th.
In the men's 10 km sprint, Carsen Campbell of Bedeque, P.E.I., was the top Canadian in 13th place. He was 1:05.6 behind gold medalist Dmitry Malyshko of Russia, who stopped the clock in 24:44.1. Eduard Latyov of Russia won silver and Emilien Jacquelin of France claimed bronze.
Macx Davies of Canmore was 58th, Jules Burnotte of Sherbrooke, Que, was 74th and Matthew Hudec of Edmonton was 88th.
Beaudry and Campbell will team up Sunday in the individual mixed relay. Tandy and Moser are entered with Davies and Burnotte in the mixed relay.
Meanwhile, at BMW World Cup women's 12.5 km pursuit in Annecy-Le Grand Bormand, France, Emma Lunder of Vernon placed 18th, her best solo result of  the season. Lunder had one miss on the range and ended up 2:06.7 behind race winner Laura Dahlmeier of Germany.
Julia Ransom of Kelowna was 27th. Rosanna Crawford of Canmore qualified for the pursuit but did not race Saturday.
Anastasiya Kuzmina of Slovakia and Lisa Vittozzi of Italy won silver and bronze respectively.
In the men's 15 km pursuit, Scott Gow of Canmore was 26th and his brother Christian placed 29th - the highest-finishing Canadians. Martin Fourcade of France won gold, Johannes Thingness Boe claimed silver and Jakov Fak took bronze.
